Julio Jones Bio


Julio is a product of Foley High School in Foley, Alabama, where he made his mark as one of the country’s most prolific athletes on the gridiron, track, and basketball court. A true athlete in every sense of the word – Jones became a standout on the Foley Lions football team, playing both wide receiver and defensive end. During his high school career, Julio’s natural athletic ability and playmaking skills started to draw attention from the most prestigious college programs in the nation. By his senior year, Jones was considered a five-star recruit by Rivals.com, and listed as the No. 1 wide receiver in his class. After months of anticipation around his college decision, Jones ended all speculation his senior year when he announced he was going to take his talents to Tuscaloosa, Alabama as a member of the Crimson Tide.



Upon arriving at Alabama, Jones wasted no time making an impact; becoming the first freshman receiver to ever start a season opener for the Crimson Tide. From his freshman year on, the talented Jones made his presence known in the SEC and across the country. During his 3-year stint with Alabama, Julio helped lead the team to an SEC & BCS National Championship, while earning First-Team All-SEC honors along the way. He ended his Alabama career second in receptions (179) and yards (2,653) in school history and fourth in touchdown catches (15).

Jones’ standout college career led to him electing to skip his senior season and declare for the 2011 NFL Draft, where he was selected by the Atlanta Falcons as the 6th overall pick. Much like college, Jones made an immediate impact on the league, finishing the season leading all rookies in touchdown receptions (8). His play continues to shine on the field and earned him 3 pro-bowl selections, and a First-Team All-Pro honor in 2015. His hard work, dedication, and desire make him a big play-maker who will continue to progress and make his mark on the NFL.



Since 2011, Julio has continued to make himself a large presence both on and off the field. In his spare time, Julio can be found out in the community helping make a difference in the lives of those in need. Football, family, and community are three things Julio values tremendously, and continues to help others in the city of Atlanta as much as he can. Jones’ goal is to be a role model in every aspect of life, and holds himself to this standard each day.
